Having said that, it can be done and many freeware developers are already working on porting their existing FSX releases over to the new 2020 platform using various tools. The new file structure and configuration files are very similar to the legacy platform (FSX/FS2004... etc) and Microsoft has tried their hardest to make development as familiar as possible.

A Brand-New Msfs For
The game comes in three different versions and will have 30 different aircraft and 40 highly-detailed airports. Unfortunately, while many users were hoping and expecting that those previous mods available for FSX would work with this version - they won't - at least not without a great deal of modification and porting over to the new platform.
General Aviation (GA) aircraft including full base models and repaints for third-party and default MSFS aircraft. General Aviation or "light" aircraft include those prop-driven, single-engine, double engine aircraft you would find at your local airfield - these are the aircraft you may have done flight training in or even completed your Private Pilots License in.
